Awards of Recognition

 

The Virginia Beach Mayor’s Committee for Persons with Disabilities is seeking nominations from the community for its 2006 annual awards to individuals, businesses and service organizations, who have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to improve and enrich the lives of the citizens of Virginia Beach who have disabilities. Award recipients will be invited to receive their awards at the December meeting of the committee.  The deadline for submission of nominations is November 30.

People who do not have other access to the Internet can use a computer at a Virginia Beach Public Library.  Computers at the Central, Bayside, Great Neck, Kempsville, and Princess Anne area libraries have assistive devices to make information accessible for persons with impaired vision. The completed nomination forms can be regular mailed (address on the nomination form)  to the Mayors office, e-mailed to ehundley@vbgov.com or faxed to (757) 385-5699.

The awards ceremony will be held at the Virginia Beach Disabled American Veterans building, 4896 Kempsville Green Parkway, Virginia Beach on December 14, 2006, beginning at 4:00 p. m.
