The Virginia ADA Coalition Presents:

Virginia’s Fourth Annual

Ask the Experts Video-Conference:

Answering Virginia’s Questions on the

Americans with Disabilities Act

When: Wednesday, April 30, 2008 9:00am—5:00pm

Where: 5 Locations: Roanoke, Norfolk, Grundy, Arlington, Onley

The Virginia ADA Coalition is proud to once again offer this exciting opportunity to “Ask the Experts” your questions regarding the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Through video conferencing, we will connect Virginians around the state with experts on the ADA and accessibility issues. This year’s conference will feature all things EMPLOYMENT.  17 years after the ADA, people with disabilities still have an unemployment rate of more than 70%.. Learn about what contributes to that terrible statistic and what simple solutions help make work accessible.

Tracie Saab of the Job Accommodation Network will discuss “from Fido to flexible scheduling”: common accommodations that work.

Next, Carol Miaskoff from the EEOC will highlight common pitfalls that hamper a successful reasonable accommodation process in light of recent court cases.

Then, conference goers will hear from the Virginia Office of Protection and Advocacy on rights of workers under the ADA.

Lastly, Marian Vessels, the Director of the DBTAC will share her training tactics for making employee ADA training fun and informative.
