The deadline for submitting articles for the
Spring Vigilant is May 10, 2007. As a state organization composed of
nearly a dozen chapters spread across the state, there is so much we can
tell the public about our activities toward improving the lives of
Virginia's blind through self-advocacy and fellowship.
Just some of the activities we can tell
people about are:
Our April Parent's Seminar in Richmond last
month;
The walk-a-thon by the Fredericksburg
chapter;
Plans for the Fall state convention hosted
by the Chesapeake Bay Chapter;
The fellowships sponsored by the Potomac
chapter to assist Federationists to attend their first national
convention;
The McDonald Fellowships;
Planning for Meet The Blind Month this Fall;
The Fairfax chapter's rockclimbing and fire-walking activities;
and starting a new chapter in the
Springfield area.
Those are just the items that come to mind.
There are hundreds of stories about being a
Federationist in Virginia. Tell your story by sending me your article to
be printed in the next edition of the Vigilant.
